The State
government through the Department of
Sport and Recreation and Lotterywest is a major supporter of the North
Murray
Diamond Sports Association (Inc) in The Department of Sport and
Recreation provides leadership, advice and funding for the sport and
recreation industry in Western Australia. In doing so, it makes an
important positive contribution to society, with recent studies showing
that participation in sport and recreation builds stronger and safer
communities, healthier and happier people, and can even improve
educational outcomes for our children. |

All the profits from lotterywest games go back to the Western Australian community, such as Western Australia’s public hospitals, sports groups and arts organisations receive a set percentage of their lottery sales each year. They also make hundreds of Lotterywest grants each year to community groups and local government authorities. Lotterywest maintains a strong relationship with the Department of Sport and Recreation, supporting almost 100 sporting clubs and associations throughout the State to deliver a diverse range of sport and recreational programs in the community. With their continued support tens of thousands of individuals, from young children enjoying weekend club sports to athletes competing at an international level can enjoy the social, physical and psychological spin-offs of engaging in sport and recreational activity. |
